Rock in Rio; a music festival that now, is one of the largest and most popular ones in the whole world. It started in Rio de Janeiro, but later on, it spread to Lisbon, Madrid, and Las Vegas. Created by Roberto Medina in 1985, with attractions like Geoge Benson, and Rod Stewart, and 34 years later this event still “rocks the show”.
This year, the festival will last 7 days, from September 27th to October 6th (except for October 1st and 2nd). On each day, eight singers will perform. Be ready for: Alok, Bebe Rexha, Cardi B, Drake, Titãs + Ana Cañas, Efi Rock, Erika Martins, Ivete Sangalo, Jessie j, Bon Jovi, Elza Soares, Hip Hop Hurricane and Emicida + Ebeye, Megadeth, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Charlie Puth, Pink, Annita, AnaVitoria + Saulo, Melim + Carolina Deslandes, Imagine Dragons, and Nickelback.
Rock in Rio is not only a music festival. It had also helped many people, by bringing 212,5 thousands of jobs for those in need, and donated 73 million trees to Amazonia.
“I believe that this year’s Rock in Rio is going to be a great event, and since I am going on the first day, I will see my favorite artists singing, and it’s going to be incredible! Everybody has been waiting for this event the last year." says Manuela Corbellini, 8th grader.
