Westwood's influence on fashion dates back to the 1970s, when she began creating garments with her then-partner Malcolm McLaren. They collaborated to launch the "SEX" store in London, where they offered provocative apparel influenced by punk rock music. She had a unique way of blending classic styles with modern elements to create something truly original.

She was noted for her punk-inspired designs and ability to push the envelope with her creations. She is known for being the first to create bondage trousers, ripped t-shirts, and provocative slogans that all led to a subculture of radical style that was never seen previously. Westwood's fashion legacy was tremendous and her passing left a hole that will be difficult to fill, as she was one of the most influential designers of our time. Her impact on the business can still be evident today, with numerous other designers drawing inspiration from her work, such as Matty Bovan, who now designs clothes worn by supermodels like Naomi Campbell. He said that he “had never ever seen such fabrics and shapes” until the first day he saw Vivianne’s clothes in real life (bbc, 2022).

In Conclusion, Vivienne Westwood's death is a huge loss for the fashion world. Her legacy, however, will live on via her creations and the influence she made on the business. She will be regarded as a great designer who subverted fashion standards and pushed limits
