Getting Back on Track

Updated: Apr 4, 2022

EARJ resumed its classes and activities on August 2nd. After a long period of online school and the interruption of sports programs and clubs, EAR] is back with all (and new!) teachers on campus, all students allowed on campus - there are a few still on distance learning - with new clubs for HS and MS students, and much more.

The PYP program has been implemented and the Upper School is working on the MYP certification for next year. Another great news for language students is that they are able to take the French DELF exam and the Spanish DELE exam here, at the Barra campus, which in the past, could only happen in Gávea.

The athletics program currently offers volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, and running practice for boys and girls after school, with new coaches joining the team of teachers. There is a brand new court on the roof available for training.

The upper school learning commons is also finally open. Students can hang there for study hall and during lunch/recess time. The learning commons can also be used during class time with the permission of the teacher.

EARJ is getting back to "normal" as much as possible, after almost two years of hybrid school due to the Pandemic. Now, with the IB continuum, our school will be able to better prepare students for life, with values that can be applied beyond the classroom. EARJ is full of great new implementations and is making up for the year students spent at home. Go Panthers!
