How to... Avoid Referrals

Here are ten simple steps we suggest for you to avoid getting a referral form sent to the Principal and to your parents about you.

1. Be on time

Classes start at 8 am, so you should arrive no later than 7:45. If you get 6 tardies, you will have reflection time, and will not be able to be part of the athletics program.

2. Be ready

Come to class prepared. When you are at home make sure you put all the materials in the backpack. We know you may forget about them when you wake up in the morning.

3. Speak English

This is an American school, so English is our common language. There are foreigners who can feel excluded when we don't use English.

4. Respect your classmates

Respect everyone, even if they are not your friends. You should treat others the same way you want to be treated.5. Be mindful of cellphone use If you are in Middle School, you can't use your phone in school. If you are in High School, and the teachers allow, you can.

6. Be mindful of elevator use

If there was an accident and you hurt your legs, or knees, you can use the elevator. If not, just take the stairs.

7. Respect the dress code

l know. You don't like it. I don't either. But it is part of the school policy, and we cannot violate it.

8. Don't forget your laptop charger

We use computers for almost every class here. In case it runs out of battery, you need to have your charger in hand.

9. Keep your teachers happy

Work on your assignments, be engaged, don't disturb the class (compliments are also welcome).

10. If none of these work, just cry...

Tears can melt a frozen heart.
