Located in Village mall, D’Heaven is a French cuisine oriented restaurant. The most successful restaurant founded in December 2020 is runned by the ex-MasterChef Heaven Delhaye.
One of the appetizers we ordered was the Panelinha de Polvo. It’s composed of grilled octopus tentacles, crispy small baked potatoes, burnt onions, grape tomato, olives, gremolata and bacon powder. Overall, this dish was delicious, the consistency of most ingredients was proportional. One critique we have is that the dish comes with excessive amounts of olives, that is not ideal to our taste. The octopus was very well seasoned, and grilled to the perfect point. Overall, we rate this dish 9/10 due to its amazingly unique composition.
The main course that was ordered was the Risotto de Vieras; and the Camarão de Lardo. The risotto was covered with semi raw Canadian scallops, grilled shrimps, finished with slices of Lardo, black garlic puree and sprouts. The main course was not as extravagant as the appetizers but it was simple and adequate. One ingredient that stood out to us was the shrimp, it was extremely well seasoned and on point. Therefore if you are looking for a good and safe dish, this would be the one. The rate that we give this dish would be 7.5/10.
Finally, for the dessert we ordered Sphere en Chocolat noir et Fruits de la Passion. It is a sphere made of white chocolate filled with passion fruit mousses, passion fruit syrup, on white chocolate biscuit, covered with cotton candy to bring back that childhood memory and washed down at the table with hot white chocolate syrup and Cognac. This was surprisingly one of the best desserts we ever ate in our lives. The texture of the mousse was soft and creamy, while the taste was sweet and fresh. The contrast of flavors within the dish is unique and puts this on our list of top 10 best desserts. This dish is definitely worth the try, and that is why we rate this dish a 9.5/10
D’Heaven is a restaurant that is worth a try. It has plenty of delicious dishes which will absolutely make your mouth water. If you are ever searching for good French cuisine in Rio, D’Heaven is a must to go restaurant!
