On a High Way to High School

On June 19, the current grade 8 class will be celebrating their promotion to High School. This special Middle School graduation deserves a beautiful ceremony, which will be hosted by Giovanna Silva and Rafael Wu, chosen by their peers. It will take place in the gym, and parents, families and friends are invited. Character Counts award, Teacher’s team award, Principal’s award and Headmaster’s award will be given to some students to honor their accomplishments this school year.

“When the eighth graders transition to HS they start a four year journey; grade 9,10, 11, and 12. Hopefully they go to College after that. Most of our students go to College overseas.” says Mrs. Natasha, US counselor. In HS there are final test, PSATs, University and career exploration, there are Clubs to join, as part of their college applications, and many parties to have fun and relax, as usual. Transitions bring excitement as well as stress, due to the fact that the expectation is higher, demanding more responsibilities and work. “To move onto High School brings up new responsibilities, as College is the next step. I am not sure whether I’m afraid or happy, but I know that when life is harder, we become stronger” says Giovanna Silva, 8th grader. There will be new challenges to face, but it’s all about effort and organization to succeed and enjoy the years to come with your friends.
