The Return of Sports

Updated: Apr 4, 2022

Sports is making it’s return. The NFL’s (National Football League) 2021-2022 season is making its debut on September 9th, with the first game being the Dallas Cowboys playing the Tampa Buccaneers, who are the defending champions hoping to build upon last year’s Super Bowl win. On September 12th, there will be 15 games being played, where their teams try to make their mark early in the season. Alongside athletes returning to the spotlight, college athletes hope to leave a good impression with NFL scouts in their NCAA games which have already started with the season opener turning out as a win for Illinois against Nebraska.

Formula One fans will also look forward to spectate the fight for leadership between Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in the Italian Grand Prix, on September 12th, and the Russian Grand Prix on September 26th.

Even with football’s return, basketball will take another month to return. The NBA season opens with the Brooklyn Nets playing the defending champions Milwaukee Bucks in early October. Not only that, but the Major League Baseball World Series will also begin. The Los Angeles Dodgers look to repeat their success and win another World Series.

Sports fans have a lot to look forward to this month. Many people familiarize themselves with new faces in their favorite sports and other fans will continue to spectate their favorite sports as their seasons start to reach a climax.
