The Stage is Set for a Historical Event

The 2022 Qatar World Cup is getting closer with each passing day; just recently, the official competing groups were drawn to set the stage. The World Cup is famously a tournament of great joy - though sometimes pure heartbreak as well - but a sure thing is that all teams participating want to engrave their names in history.

Firstly, some context is important. Qatar will be the first middle eastern country to host the World Cup, in the past, countries like Russia, Brazil, and South Africa have all hosted the World Cup, just to name a few. Never has a Middle-Eastern country hosted the World Cup and that will change this year. Surprisingly, there aren't any favorite teams to win the tournament so far. One of the biggest contenders and possible favorites to win it all did not even qualify to participate; after a heartbreaking 1x0 loss to North Macedonia, Italy has been left out for the second time in a row. The European Championship winner's loss gave space for Portugal to beat Turkey and allowed North Macedonia to cement themselves as World Cup-bound.

Brazil's team has never looked more different, as many of the famous veteran athletes left or have been replaced since the previous Cup. This rejuvenation of the Brazilian National team gives them many new tools to work with - most notably in their new young offense, entirely composed of players who used to compete in top leagues throughout Europe. The road to the promised land will not be easy, however, since many other teams are hungry for the grand win.

The upcoming competition will be one of the most memorable due to it being the first World Cup for many rising stars - so look forward to seeing all these new talents displayed. It is fair to assume that entire countries are hoping to win this Cup for eternal glory, happiness, and, most importantly, bragging rights. The contest won't be easy, but it will definitely be worth a watch.
