We Were Liars is a great book for those into mystery and thriller. In the story by E. Lockhart, Cadence Sinclair Eastman battles to recall what befell her during one special summer.


The story goes into detail about the life of Cadence and the rich Democrat individuals from her family, as they battle to manage a disaster to which they have all contributed.


The tale addresses the subjects of realism, youthful love and bigotry. Something happens on her family's private island. Cadence has amnesia, and can't recollect the events of what befell her that summer. To worsen the situation, her mom and others won't tell her the details of her mishap.

About two years after the accident, Cadence meets a group on the island, known as The Liars. As time passes, Cadence slowly approaches the devastating truth to her accident.


E. Lockhart is New York Times bestselling author, and National Book Award finalist. We Were Liars is a modern and sophisticated suspense novel, according to the New York Times. A great book for the young adult audience, because of Cadence's devastating story.
